Labor Day weekend brought to close another UVA Summer Series. The weather was absolutely perfect for the last stop on the Underground Tour. The event's experimental 3s format combined with the great conditions proved lots of fun as the summer's competition drew to an end.

In the uvA division, the powerhouse team of Hyer/Sellars/Wheelock went undefeated and obviated the need for any finals with their pool play. In the uvB finals, two teams from the Triple Cities area squared off against one another with the team of Bradtke/Kenyon/Sculley beating out Lainhart/Strollo/Tracy. Bradtke, a last minute replacement who had been untested in the sand this date, silenced many critics as he proved an invaluable part of his team during the competition.

Later that night, the players partied as if they weren't quite ready to let go of the summer. Eventually, they said their goodbyes to each other and headed back home for a long winter of indoors training.
